Day 1:

Arrival at Milan airport and transfer to the hills of Monferrato surrounded by ancient villages and castles. We will proceed visiting a distillery and a chocolate-nougat factory to taste the typical products of the region. Then we will move towards Asti where will have dinner and overnight.

 

Day 2:

After breakfast, we will move towards the Langhe and we will meet our professional guide at Alba, the city of the truffle, surrounded by harmonious vineyards from which some of the best known and most prestigious wines of Italy are born: Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Dolcetto and Moscato d’Asti. We will also admire the beautiful hills, the Barolo castle and the little village of Morra where the famous Barolo wine is produced.

We will not miss the visit of a wine cellar and we will have lunch with typical dairy products. In the afternoon it is time to visit the Grinzane Cavour castle, where the owner of this beautiful palace, Camillo Benso Count of Cavour will welcome us. Then we will come back to the hotel in Asti for dinner.

 

Day 3:

After breakfast we will do a walking guided tour of Asti, the second art city of Piemonte; a rich artistic and architectonic heritage of towers, forts and churches, domus and buildings.

Free time for lunch and then a panoramic tour of Turin, a beautiful city known for its numerous art galleries, restaurants, churches, palaces, opera houses, parks, gardens, theatres, libraries, museums and other venues. Turin is well known for its Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neo-classical and Nouveau Art architecture. Many of Turin’s public squares, castles, gardens and elegant buildings such as Palazza Madama were built between the 16th and 18th centuries. Typical dinner in the city center and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 4:

After breakfast, transfer to Venaria Reale for the visit of the famous Reggia that is one of the residences of the Royal House of Savoy, included in the UNESCO Heritage List in 1997. Transfer to Turin and free time. Dinner in an ancient restaurant and overnight in the hotel.

 

Day 5:

Transfer to Milan for a guided tour of the city and a panoramic tour by bus. We will proceed with a beautiful walk admiring all the main attractions: the Cathedral, Castello Sforzesco, Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, S.Ambrogio Church and the famous Navigli area where we will have a typical Milanese lunch in one of its cozy restaurants. After some free time we will transfer to Milan airport for our departure.

 

Possibility to add some days over the north lakes or in Valle d’Aosta.
