DAY 1:

Check-in in a charming hotel located in the hearth of Bologna. In the early afternoon meeting with the private guide for a short walk around the city centre to admire some of the most important monuments and tourist attractions: the main square Piazza Maggiore and its historical buildings, the San Petronio cathedral, the Neptune fountain, the beautiful Piazza Santo Stefano and its church, the two towers, the medieval food market. The walk ends at the hotel and then free time for shopping and relax.

Dinner in a local restaurant to taste the best food and wine of the region. We suggest a late walk along the illumineted streets of the city centre and a stop in one of the many nice bars to breathe the amazing atmosphere of the night life. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2:

Breakfast at the hotel. Walking tour from the university area to the beautiful Palazzo dell’Archiginnasio which contains an extremely interesting Anatomy Theatre, built in cedar wood and used for the experiments of the Faculty of Medicine. It hosts also an ancient public library that is worth a visit. The tour continues with the church of San Giacomo Maggiore, an elegant Gothic church dating from 1267 that contains some fine paintings by Costa and Francia. The visit ends with the little church of S. Cecilia, containing beautiful frescoes.
