Arrival in Venice airport and transfer to Treviso. Here we’ll be guided around the city and in the evening transfer to Grado for the dinner and the overnight.
After breakfast visit of Grado, which is (after Venice) the second most important city “on the water” in Italy. Linked to the mainland by an incredibly thin strip of land, with its lagoon, Basilica of Santa Eufemia, Basilica di Santa Maria della Grazia, the natural reserve of Cavanata valley, Grado still remains a beautiful and not so well known treasure of our country. Then visit of Aquileia, which has been declared UNESCO heritage thanks to its archeological testimonies and the notoriety of its long shores. Transfer to Palmanova, a fortified city which has the shape of a nine-tip star and which is part of the UNESCO heritage as well. In the evening back to Grado and overnight.
Breakfast and departure for Spilimbergo for the visit with the guide to the school of the mosaic, active from 1922. Following we will proceed to San Daniele del Friuli for the visit of a “Prosciuttificio” and lunch with typical products. In the afternoon guided visit of Venzone, a fortified village hard damaged by the earthquake of 1976 and example of renaissance thanks to the determination of its inhabitants. In the evening transfer to Venice for the overnight.
After breakfast in Venice, we will take the “vaporetto” in order to visit Murano, Burano and Torcello, the three little islands of Venice, respectively famous for the hand-blown glass and the museum of glass, the handmade lace and the little colorful houses, and the bridge of Evil, which is remained uncompleted. The entire day will be dedicated to these three islands, in the evening return to the hotel of Venice by “vaporetto” and dinner in a cozy restaurant.
Breakfast in the hotel, half day guided tour of the city and then free time for lunch and some last shopping. Then transfer to the airport for the departure.
