Day 1: Flashback in the Middle Ages
As soon as you arrive at the airport a private transfer will lead you to the oldest and most prestigious hotel in Bologna, located in Via Indipendenza, within a walking distance from Piazza Maggiore and the two towers. This superb five star deluxe hotel is situated in a building designed by the architect Alfonso Torregiani during the 18th century, the 109 rooms have a mix of antiques and modern furnitures. This hotel is also famous for its restaurant “I Carracci”, which is rightly regarded as among the most sophisticated and elegant in the city.
A private English guide will show you the most important monuments in Bologna. This beautiful city was declared the “city of music” by UNESCO. Over the centuries, Bologna has acquired many nicknames: “the learned one” (la dotta) because of its university; “the fat one” (la grassa) refers to its tasty cuisine, “The red one” (la rossa) originally refers to the colour of the houses.
You will also have the great opportunity to visit a private medieval tower and know the family owner who will introduce you to the secrets of the tower. From the terrace on the top a breathtaking view of Bologna.
Day 2: Adrenaline Experience
After a fantastic breakfast buffet, you will be lead to the private Varano dè Melegari Circuit (optionally you can choose Imola Circuit) for an adrenaline experience.
This is an exciting experience on a very technical circuit set in the pleasant surroundings of Parma. All the sessions are carefully structured to guarantee a true and safe performance. A special session of telemetry, for an in-depth analysis of the performance, will give you the feeling to be a real driver preparing for an important race. A camera will record the entire experience and an SD Memory Card will be given to you.
At the end of this experience a Maserati Attendance Certificate is issued to all trainees.
With a private transfer you will be lead to the famous Maserati Factory in order to learn everything about this world. This is an Italian luxury car company established on December, 1914, in Bologna.
The day will end with an exclusive dinner at Marcello Leoni’s House, a famous Michelin-Starred Chef. This is not a restaurant, but a private house where you can enjoy convivial moments. The menu is carefully chosen by the chef according to the season and
freshness of the ingredients selected every day in the typical local markets.
Day 3: Self-drive Ferrari, a red passion
Today you have the great opportunity to drive a fantastic Ferrari car that will be at your disposal all day. You will drive the car with a professional driver seated beside you.
Ferrari is an Italian luxury sport car company based in Maranello and founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929. This self-drive experience will start from Bologna downtown to the most important symbols of the famous “Land of Motors”.
You will also visit the biggest and most important vintage cars private collection: forty cars, thirty motorcycles, bikes and military vehicles.
Chance to visit a Parmesan Cheese factory where the owner make Parmigiano Reggiano according to the traditional recipe but in compliance with strict organic production standards and utilizing the latest farm management technology.
Then you will drive to Maranello (heart of Ferrari Family) in order to visit the outstanding Ferrari Museum, previously known as Galleria Ferrari, dedicated to Ferrari sports car. The exhibition also introduces technological innovations, some of which
had made the transition from racing cars to road cars.
Afterwards, you will have a break in the deliciuos and very renowned restaurant near the Fiorano race track, where a lot of famous F1 pilots are used to go. You will taste local dishes from Emilia-Romagna.
In the afternoon you will not miss to visit the Enzo Ferrari House, also known as Museo Enzo Ferrari, focused on the life and work of Enzo Ferrari, the founder of the Ferrari sport car brand.
The day will end in one of the most famous restaurants all over the world: “Osteria Francescana”, the three-Michelin-stars restaurant of Massimo Bottura. He has been listed in the top 5 at The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards since 2010. The way back to the hotel in Bologna will be arranged by a private transfer.
Day 4: Flying over Tuscany and Chianti Experience
Today you may enjoy an optional private transfer by helicopter (it is also possible to join the castle with a private minivan) to the Chianti region in Tuscany, flying over the National Park of Appennino Tosco-Emiliano.
The helicopter will land in the heart of Chianti region, between Siena and Florence, in the private park of Meleto Castle where a private visit of the location, wine tasting and lunch will be waiting for you.
Meleto Castle dominates the valley of the river Massellone, in the past belonged to the Benedictine monks and later became the property of the Ricasoli family. It is surrounded by six beautiful farmhouses, carefully restored but preserving their rustic Tuscan style. Each house has a private garden or terrace and overlooks the countryside, with green vineyards and olive groves.
You can taste wines and extra virgin organic olive oil in the charming wine cellars situated in the basement of the castle.
